It is not a good thing to be put into such a situation.
While I was married, my wife forced me to make that choice several times, usually for no reason.
I figured out after the divorce, that she was doing that to estrange me from my friends, and to just rely on her, even though she was unreliable. In other words, to control me.
That is wrong.
I do not know of any religion that permits a spouse to control their mate in such a way.

To ask your gf/bf, or married mate to stop seeing a friend is wrong.

Whether you are a girl or a guy if your gf or bf respects u and trusts u they shouldn't want you to give up a friend even if they don't like them

The one exception is if the friend is disrespecting the gf or bf and trying to cause trouble just because they don't like the gf or bf
