The Beatles' two songs and China

The Beatles have come to many countries in their performance career during the 60's,but they haven't
come to China at that time,it's a pity to our Chinese
people. But there are two songs mentioned about China, one is 'Revolution',the other is 'The inner light'.In 'Revolution' it sung

You say you want a revolution,
well, you know,
we all want to change the world.
You tell me that it's evolution,
well, you know,
we all want to change the world.
but when you talk about destruction,
don't you know you can count me out.
don't you know it's gonna be alright,
alright, alright.

You say you got a real solution,
well, you know,
we'd all love to see the plan.
You ask me for a contribution,
well, you know,
we're doing what we can.
but when you want money for people with minds that hate,
All I can tell you is brother you have to wait.
don't you know it's gonna be alright,
alright, alright.

You say you'll change the constitution,
well, you know,
we all want to change your head.
You tell me it's the institution,
well, you know,
You better free your mind instead.
but if you go carrying pictures of chairman mao,
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow.
don't you know know it's gonna be alright,
alright,alright.

alright,alright.
alright,alright.
alright,alright.
alright,alright.

In 'The inner light' it sung

Without going out of my door
I can know all things of earth
Without looking out of my window
I could know the ways of heaven

The farther one travels
The less one knows
The less one really knows

Without going out of my door
I can know all things of earth
Without looking out of my window
I could know the ways of heaven

The farther one travels
The less one knows
The less one really knows

Arrive without travelling
See all without looking
Do all without doing

One lyric of 'Revolution' is 'But if you go carrying pictures of chairman mao,you ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow.',and 'The inner light' is the 47th chapter of 'Dao De Jing' written by 'Lao Zi'.
'But if you go carrying pictures of chairman mao,you ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow.',which in chinese means:
但是如果你高举毛主席的画像,无论如何你是不会给任何人的。
And 'The inner light' original Chinese words are:
不出户,知天下;不窥牖,见天道。其出弥远,其知弥少。是以圣人不行而知,不见而明,不为而成。
or as this Chinese meaning:
不出门户,就能够推知天下的事理;不望窗外,就可以认识日月星辰运行的自然规律。他向外奔逐得越远,他所知道的道理就越少。所以,有“道”的圣人不出行却能够推知事理,不窥见而能明了“天道”,不妄为而可以有所成就。

John also has a song " I am going to China, to seek for myself". :) Well it maybe not related to the Beatles, but still my favourite song mentioning China is David Bowie's "China Girl"!

Hey, buddy, how are you?
