What is a Sufi?
Aslam o alaikum , h r u all?
as related to our group , i wanna share that wat is a sufi.........................
One who does not separate himself from others by opinion or dogma;
and who realizes the heart as the Shrine of God.
What does the Sufi desire?
To remove the false self and discover God within.
What does the Sufi teach?
Happiness.
What does the Sufi seek?
Illumination.
What does the Sufi see?
Harmony.
What does the Sufi give?
Love to all created things.
What does the Sufi get?
A greater power of love.
What does the Sufi find?
GOD.
And lose?

Hazrat Inayat Khan
The word, 'Sufi' has been ascribed various origins, among them words meaning 'purity' and 'wisdom.' The Sufi, therefore, is one who has discarded all that does not belong to his innermost self, and who has cultivated the garden of the heart, for there is no other place where wisdom grows.
The Sufi sees the Divine Presence reflected in all names and forms, and is limited by none. Knowing that no man-made distinction can contain the One Being, the Sufi offers sincere respect to all forms of worship, while ever striving to be free of dogmatic limitation.
The Sufi is one who has two points of view: his own, and that of the other.

yea iqbal did bcz he was not just doing Sufism he was a part of activities for independence so tht'z y he didnt forgot him , bcz he was doing poetry , qasidas tht tyme isn't it?

Aap ki nazar may Rubab 'zaroori tau nahi kay har badal baras jaye' aur aap ki nazar may fake dreams 'badal ka bin barsey jana kanjoosi hay'
aur mairi nazar may aap dono ki nazar ba wajud ikhtilaf kay sach ko samajhney kay liye aik saath lay kar chalna lazmi hay :)

and she has given good examples,
one can not be a sufi if he/she claims to be BULAND / Upper one,
Different people may come up with different deifinations of a sufi, but one thing, the code of suif is not a written one, so be it if you wana nkow,
