Can you explain where is it please and which is this momunent?

Well, actually, the little islet named Gulangyu in my photo was held on lease by 13 countries in the period of the Opium War (1840-1842) .
This buiding was founded by Japanese in 1897, as the consulate in Gulangyu, used to be a jail for imprison Chinese people during the Second world war.
