I share with you one of the most beautiful literary piece i've read .....
Your children are not your children
They are the sons and daughters of life's longing for itself
They come through you but not from you
And though they are with you
They belong not to you...
You may give them your love
But not your thoughts
For they have their own thoughts
You may house their bodies but not their soul
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow which you cannot visit,
not even in your dreams...
You may strive to be like them
But not seek to make them like you
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday
You are the bow from which your children as living arrows are sent forth

hehe thanks, sistah....
i've been teaching kids for sometime already... i pity the those who are pressured by their parents to attain or maintain the highest grade...good academic performance is good in itself but the way parents handle the encouragement or the intention would matter a lot...
lol, obviously, my next career is being a Guidance Counselor :)))

I agree with you. Its the worst kind of torture I guess.....when you are young, helpless and your parents who are supposed to understand your academic pace, are the ones imposing great burdens to you. As I always say, I want my kids to grow up happy and confident, to have strong faith in God and develop the right values. That should be a priority for parents. Definitely, a child with good character is hundred times better than a child with good grades.

I am beginning to realize how hard it is to be a parent. The difficulty of labor is incomparable to the struggle of trying to be a good parent. My daughters, 7 and 2, had taught me great life lessons. Children are amazing, they have a way of making you feel the intensity of feelings....love...hope..faith..happiness...even sadness and longing for the beloved. Being a mom is indeed the greatest of all the gifts i have from God.
