Hello! iv been a member for a few days now, but I dont think I have introduced myself. I'm Rizza, a muslim from Southern Philippines. I'm a government employee, working for the less-privileged of our society 24/7. I find great fulfillment in my work bcoz each day I can see how in my own little ways I can make a difference in other people's lives, especially the poor and the needy in the barrios.
I know for a fact that in each of us, there is always a part that goes for the less fortunate of our brothers. Let us cultivate that part as there so many out there who needs our help. Even mere prayers can help.

I'm happy to tell you also that my daughters shared with your cause for being helpful to the needy. They too, even myself help them on our own little ways. Fang Qixia, a professional artist from Cixi, Zhejiang Province, is good at scenery paintings in series. Fang is a member of China National Art & Crafts Society, China Promoting Art and Culture Associate, Zhejiang Artists’ Associate, and vice-chairman of Cixi Artists’ Associate. Fang learnt drawing form Lu Yifei and Sun Zhongqi, and was directed by Mr.He Shuifa. Since 1991, Fang traveled around China, and held his personal exhibition in December 1993. Invited by France Artists Associate in April 1999, Fang reviewed and communicated with European counterparts in France, Germany, Italy and Austria. In December 2000, Fang Qixia’ Wash Paintings was exhibited in Japan. In the same year, Fang was awarded the bronze prize for 2000 World Chinese Artists Exhibition. Fang’ Paintings of Europe was published by the press of China Academy of Art. His painting was awarded the Excellent Works in 2002 The Fifth National Chinese Traditional Realistic Painting Exhibition, and hundreds of paintings were collected by people around the world. In 2003, Beijing Post published a series of post cards: Hundred Excellent Chinese Artists. In November 2004, China Stamp Collections Company published a series of stamps titled Collective Works of Fang Qixia ---- European Landscape. Fang’s works was collected in Zhejiang Art Collections of 50 Years in 2005. In April 2006, People Art Press published 7200 copies of Taining in Fang’s Painting. The National Postal Bureau publish 3,000,000 copies of New Year post cards based on Fang’s Chinese traditional painting. Yes it does Margarette..its nice to meet you here in Zorpia. I am not much here in this site but i do check sometimes to see what is going on. I have not been to Bicol for years...well maybe coz my parents were no longer living. Was an orphan when i was 11 years old. And i only have one brother there. The rest of my bro and sis are already here in Manila.
Wish i could always go back there..missed that place very much..the sea, the river, the falls..gosh!!! i like it there most than any place.

The only country in Asia I've ever visited was Japan. I remember how much that helped me appreciate new places. We likely have the same world, my friend. Here in my country, Philippines, have so many people too that came from different countries. And I'm sure you knew that there are so many Chinese here too. I have a lot of Chinese friends before in my high school days coz i've been to a chinese school that time. But I don't know where they are now. And you know, my friend, my great grandfather was a pure Chinese.

dear marqarettean thank you for being happy with my work and i am very sure there are a lot of things you can apprieciate about your talents as a woman and as a woman you certainly would be better than me and luckily i have as i work become more femininely aware of my make up for me to be able to paint these works and have decided to be honest and try to visualize myself as a woman giving birth and its not easy in my home town so i do other similar themes useing other subjects like the shoes and recently the doors and locks ..well its all a campaign for the foetus and mother nature..hope you understand and as a man i do not want my campaign to be negative like many abortion campaigns..thanks again

the honour is all mine from your praise and i would definitely say i do have a lot to learn from you and my own mother reminds me that i have a lot to catch up on her to..it would be easy if i could make a living from what i do ..i havent sold a painting since 1997 and works that i have sold were cheap to obtain and i had help from my fathers work mates who bought a few and an exhibition in castlebar where my relations bought a few and to cap it all my work has got into national exhibitions which has been a great honour for me and if i did landscape painting i would probably make money but i feel i must tell the truth or i will get the sack from god and then where would i be..dead i would think..my health improves when i make a truthfull picture and i probably would not be writeing this message to you now Margarettean

Just go on with what you are doing, my friend. Every artist had his own talent and should not be compared with others. In painting, just follow what is in your heart. An artist's life is full of hardships and struggle, but the joy in it can't be compared to any wealth. Just look forward to having a one-man-show, someday. Don't stop until it is realized. i will do as you say and identify with your words but i think having my show on the internet is more humble than on show at a gallery and its hard anyway to be a prophet in your hometown as they say oh theres that alp from the station and hes going to have an exhibition as if he hasnt enough attention but that doesnt bother me what people think..its what people do ...like not buying any paintings ..the inaccess atitude of people that call themselves catholics and with my work i hope to show them up for what they are ....non catholics at week days and catholics on a sunday only...i think the last will be first in heaven and its no harm making the first feel as if they are last while they feel their wallets..thanks again Margarettean

What you are doing is good. It can serve as an eye opener for them so they too would defend and would give security for the weak and oppressed. Like what our national hero did. He cannot fight openly, so he fought by means of his writings, his books. So the minds of the people were opened and learn how to defend the country from the conquerors. Just continue with your works, my friend. Time will come that they will be open minded enough, to understand what is your purpose in doing your works.

Thank you very much... I was told my middle name, Rocha, was filipino as well and that it meant gentle breeze. I use to have a friend that went to school in Manilla but I lost contact with her! I've known a few filipino's I worked with and a filipina who use to take care of me when I was a child and she was supposed to teach me how to cook the food and tell me about the phillipines as well!
