Live Albums
Just yesterday evening I was listening to Peter Gabriels "Plays live" (yep...that's an oldie!) and I was thinking "Wow...this is one of the best live-albums ever made!"
So here are my Top 5 Live Albums of all time:
1) KISS "ALIVE 2"
To me, they are one of the greatest bands ever and this is them on the absolute peak. They also put out a good "Alive" and "Symphony (Alive IV)"..."Alive 3 sucks though!
But the No. 2 is definately the No.1!
2) U2 "UNder a blood red sky"
It's really a shame, this band doesn't do more live albums. If you ever watched one of their concerts live (I did see EVERY tour since 1983!) or watch one of their DVD's (I highly recommedn "Zoo TV" or "U2 go home"), you will know that they are excellent performers.
This album captures so much of the 80's and has that famous "this song is not a rebel song"- line on it.
Just shortly after that, they made a great appearance at the first "Live Aid"- concert. If you have a chance to watch that...do it!
3) Peter Gabriel "Plays live"
Very atmosphereic album with great songs!
4) Simple Minds "Live in the city of light"
Great performers and great music from the 80's.
5) Goo Goo Dolls "live in Baltimore"
They so-fucking-rock!
