Hmmmmm... I hate watchig modern russian TV - too many stupid programs... and too many people who can't be aassociate with РОДИНА. Pozner, sobchag, malakhov etc. :(

I prefer to watch old soviet movies. From modern movies it's pleasant "Мы из будущего"/"We're from the future".

Oleg, you are totally right, that post-Yeltsin's crap fills all the modern Russian television! While the country already needs new heroes, different from those shallow, moral and physical stripteasers! I haven't seen the movie u mentioned, cos I live in China, so some things do not get here.

My favorite is "Alexander Nevsky" which I saw so many years ago in a Russian History class at the university. And after all these long years, my good friend Maties found a copy and sent it to me. I have watched it three times already.
By the way, today is Maties' birthday! But don't tell him I told you this.

9 rota touched me a lot..and of course i really like old good movies such as pokrovskie vorota,beloie solntse pustyni,afonia etc etc. i'm also curious to see 12 by mikhalkov

Actually I rememberd I have seen other Russian films, but not the classics. One is Mute, about some mute girl who sees someone being murdered while recording a film. I saw another one about a Russian girl and her son being illegal inmigrants in UK. I think the title is Resort...

last night i was watching turkish gambit. again :) dunno how many times i've seen it :) still - very good movie. nd i'm getting 9 rota 2day as well. can't wait. now that i've no internet at home is pretty boring.

Ballad OF A Soldier is probably my favorite, I need to watch it again.

I love Russian movies from that time. I also like "The Cranes Are Flying," but chose "Ballad OF A Soldier" as my favorite.

"White Sands Of The Dessert" is on my to watch list (I know that is a little newer, and about a different war) :)

Me,as most of females, like romantic old movies as well as those one: "Spring"(Vesna) or "Devchata" (i don,t know how should i translate that in english - i guess- girls ...or something)? hahhaha...
