Should we VOTE?.."The MOST Influential person of the Year"
The message above, could make you shock!!or not, I dont know but i do really shock!!

Before I read the text, it sounds great that voted for the 100 candidates of the person who is the most influential person of the year.
But then, a lot of question came through in my mind..
The text following would not be my opinion..

Dont you realize that the word "Influential" can be meaned both of POSITIVE and NEGATIVE? so
Should we vote for our beloved DAD or not if the text above mean...NEGATIVE? (Ask yourself if you love HM)

HM, As our Great DAD is the person whom's can not find out anybody to be compared with so..
Should we vote for our beloved DAD if HM's to be compared with common people(which mentioned as other 99 candidates)?

Can you be bear for the message that is really aggressive and look down our country(Thailand) and HM?

As much as I may understand your love for your king: who are you to put down the other candidates?
Among them there are people who have achieved great things, people like Nelson Mandela who practically freed a whole country from racial injustice or Bono with his fight against poverty and AIDS in Africa!
I think you "dad" is a politically and socialy well informed man, very intelligent and wise. I think, he would actually be not too sad to be named alongside some of these great persons!
So: if you dont want others to look down on your beliefes, you shouldnt put others down in the first place!
I will not come back to this forum any more, as I think you are taking all this a little too far and you are becoming insulting and injust towards others.

vote to see who is King? i would vote for him to be Thailand's King. he is a good man. i would not vote for the queen of england. she does no good.

Do you really believe that a world wide aclaimed magazine like TIME would let people write articles about a subject not well observed?
Do you really believe, that TIME would let a 2 -week-Phuket-holidaymaker write an article about anything?
These people are journalists with vast amount of experience, some of them living in Asia for years and years and even in Thailand.
The research before they write something!
Maybe something that you should also do, before you publicly state such bullsh*t!

of course i'm not from china nils, i'm living there.. and yes, the press i blatantly restricted here, though there are ways to get hold of the rubbish the western world is fed shoul you so desire.

This is the reason why I do post this topic here to be discussed. Normally, when ppl heard the name "TIME", most of them read nothing then do voting for our King to be the 1st for others. Therefore, I post this one to remind all before voting, we could not demand others to do what's the right things,alright? We are in Absolute Democracy country with the NICE and GREAT King named Bhumibol.

Wake up and accept that there is a world outside Thailands frontiers where your King (long may he live) is not protected to criticsm by a law (that he himself criticised in 1985 ...i think it was!).

I life and work in your country, I like being here and I highly respect your traditions.
I also think that your king is a good man, I wish for him to have a healthy and long life.
He has done a lot of good for your country (some things I personally might POLITICALLY question) and you people of Thailand love the man.
But you should accept, that there IS an outside world that MAY see things from another perspective.
For most people OUTSIDE Thailand, your king (as well as the Queen of England or the King of Spain) is "just" a historical and political person and viewed with different eyes!
Vote or not vote- it's up to you!
But understand that the fact that YOU (and your fellow people in Thailand) love the king, does not automatically mean that the WHOLE WORLD does the same!
I hope I did not offend you by my opinion!

P.S. See it as a compliment that one of the worlds most read and popular magazines put HM up for the vote as "Most influential person of the year!"...I would like to be on that list for sure!
