Modern-day American Christianity,

The way Jesus talked about "sheeps & goats" and "wheat & tares" - If you look at Modern-day American Christianity, you have to wonder just how many of the professing church are actually saved. I am trying to learn how to witness in a way that can help lead to repentance - not just trying out Jesus because "God has a Wonderful plan for your life."

The Holy Spirit does the convicting and also brings forth the fruit. If the fruit's not there, it's easy to identify those who are not saved. Yet we also need to remember there are two types of saved people: saved/need to clean up their act due to a bad time in their life or something, and saved/the person is producing fruit. Though the former isn't the norm, it is there since we all go through times where we act "unsaved" due to life and have let the enemy get a foothold. I'm not saying it happens to every saved person, but it does happen. I've been there personally. But part of being of the family of Christ, we're also able to gently take that person aside and see what can be done about the issue. Done in love, though, always. :)

For witnessing, we can show the Truth, but the Holy Spirit is the One Who convicts, which then leads to repentance and salvation. Always pray before witnessing (if you can) for His words, and then when you're done, surrender that person to the Lord for His Will to be done in their lives.

Our world is leading further and further away as we see it in American and Canada. Although there may be so much hate towards God, or any religion at that, there is still those who dearly love the Lord and many people think that our Generation is the one to take a whold of our world and lead it back to Christ. An alien youth of Christians taking over the world.
God has planes for many people who love him and alot will become of what has and is to come.
All we really have to do is pray and ask for guidence
Love in Christ

"I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your SPIRITUAL SERVICE OF WORSHIP."
-Romans 12:1 (new american standard translation)

It would seem to me that this verse is saying that our lifestyle, actions and spoken words, 24 hours a day, are what God considers to be worship, NOT the Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services that take place during the week.

Being a Christian is more than warming the pew during corporate worship on Sunday morning and evening Bible study during the week. It is LIVING a lifestyle that glorifies God and provides encouragement for the downtrodden.

Speaking as an American and as a witness to the continued decline of moral decency and peaceful co-existence with our neighbors, I would rather see less "church" attendance and more implementing of the principles of love that Jesus taught. We have become a nation of 21st Century pharisees!
